Objectives
Certification as an "Expert Judge" for the Syrah du Monde® international wine competition.

- Principles of sensory analysis as applied to Syrah/Shiraz wines
- Physiology of taste and knowledge of Syrah/Shiraz wines
- Taste exercise
- Aroma exercise - Wine scoring system for international competitions
- Wine scoring exercise using Syrah/Shiraz wines, use of the tasting sheet
- Quantifying the results and awarding marks of quality - Pairing foods with Syrah/Shiraz wines
- History and development of Syrah/Shiraz wines
- Quality Assurance approach (ISO 9002) as applied to Syrah du Monde®
- Performance and reliability assessment for judges

Course Information
This training course will be held as part of the Syrah du Monde® knowledge/evaluation centre for expert wine tasting judges is held at the Paul Bocuse Institut (near Lyon).

The training course are given in French from 08:45 to 17:30 hours.
Limited number of places available.
Participation fees: 530 euros without VAT (636 euros with VAT).
Including lunch and courses documentation.
Evaluation
Course evaluation by the participants at the end of the day.
After each day of tasting at Syrah du Monde®, a tasting reliability assessment is provided in order to validate the confidence interval for each taster and for the group.
